Dollardaddy’s (Hungary)

Emőke Kiss-Végh and Tamás Ördög are young Hungarian theatre-makers, known for their unorthodox shows and projects staged in flats and unusual venues. Their theater workshop, called dollardaddy's (Dollár Papa Gyermekei) is one of the youngest Hungarian ensembles. They are true risk-takers in every sense: experimenting on the boundaries of real life and theatre in a minimalistic style. Their original acting style, inspired by the Dogma films, invites the audience to be part of a uniquely intimate relationship with the performers. Everything is happening just within their grasp.
„In our society, sexual desire is stimulated to the extreme, but the means of satisfaction are not offered. Advertising, and the economy in general, is based on desire and not on satisfaction…“
(Michel Houellebecq)
Casanova’s adventurous life offers a pretext to examine the age we live in, to ask who Casanova might be today. How we connect with one another now. What we desire and what we fear. Why we want to live up to the image constructed about us. We no longer even know who created these monsters - us or society. We witness the encounters between three young adults, just entering maturity, and a middle-aged man, in a hotel room. A hyperrealistic exploration, without artifice, focused exclusively on the human being - physically and psychologically - in extreme close-up.
