There Is No Mud On The Sea
Paraphrase based on the novel The Postman Always Rings Twice by James Cain
Dream
It was so strange... As if I had arrived home. There was nobody. Just myself and her. Under me, the big and soft rock still kept the heat of the sun. Something moved in the air. It wasn’t the wind, but a thought. But even that had nothing more. Just a soft breeze.
And the sound of a cricket somewhere. And the salty smell of the pine. Twilight.
I was sitting there, in that strange familiarity, in this eternal, pure, dry, resolute change...
I was looking at her, but i didn’t want to disturb her... mirror? No, not the right word... I could see my face in her, but beyond it, down there she lay, an infinite of navy blue. I arrived home.
