The selection process for TESZT 2019 has started

More than 100 applications from the Balkans and Eastern Europe arrived during the last month for TESZT 2019. The TESZT team will start the evaluation process and contact the selected artists before February 15th 2019. Besides the performances submitted via our open call, the final programme will include other artists whose aesthetics and debated subjects match the festival’s profile. Save the date – the 12th TESZT will take place during 19th-26th of May 2019.

Ciprian Marinescu is a journalist, cultural manager and translator for theatre plays written in  German or Romanian. He lives in Germany, Romania and, lately, Mexico. During the past 15 years, he initiated and developed multiple collaborations and festivals in the area of theatre and contemporary dance in Romania and Germany.

The Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara - TESZT, Romania is an international festival that has been organised annually since 2008 by the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre in Timişoara. Dear spectators,

Due to bureaucratic reasons, related to (not) receiving the necessary visas in order to enter our country, the performance of Qendra Multimedia from Kosovo, scheduled for May 21st at 5 pm had to be cancelled. Ironically, ”a play with four actors...” deals precisely with complications regarding European paperwork, and the Hungarian Theatre in Timisoara considers that the performance at TESZT would have been a good opportunity for discussion.

The Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara TESZT 2018 is preparing a free contemporary dance workshop, which will be coordinated by the famous German contemporary dance company cie. toula limnaios (Berlin) - on 21st and 23rd of May 2018.

cie. toula limnaios will participate in TESZT 2018 with the performance „tempus fugit” (22nd of May, 19:00, Main Hall, https://vimeo.com/204709189). The company was formed in 1996 by choreographer Toula Limnaios and composer Ralf R. Ollertz and it promotes dance which makes a stand for mankind, made by and for humans.

The Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara – TESZT – will be organised by Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre during May 20th-27th 2018 in the theatre’s halls and the performance hall of the Military Circle. This year’s selection presents conventional and alternative theatre formats, contemporary dance, performances based on video-mapping, a multimedia installation, aiming to capture current relevant tendencies on the European stages.

TESZT collaboration with ATECC 2021

This year’s edition of TESZT will be part of “Xtensions”, a program implemented by the Association Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2021 (ATECC 2021). The drive behind “Xtensions” is to promote already existing successful cultural events in the city. After contributing to the Eurothalia European Theatre Festival last year, the Association will include TESZT 2018 on its agenda by supporting the participation of maximum 8 unique performances to TESZT2018, all of which were submitted via the Open Call that ended on January 5th.
