OPEN CALL for applications: TESZT 2018

TESZT, the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara, Romania is an international festival that has been organised annually since 2008. The event aims to promote multiculturalism, works as a platform for cultural exchange and also as an invitation to dialogue with the artists and other professionals from the Eastern European and Balkan region.

This year we would like to broaden our selection process, thus together with the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre we launch a call for applications for works within the field of theatre and performing arts. Our aim is to continue the Festival's tradition that emphasises on encounters and sharing, be it between makers and the audience, acclaimed professionals and emerging artists, geographical or social regions and their different aesthetics. We pay special attention to performances produced in the region (Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, etc.), to artistic projects that are aesthetically and/or content-wise intriguing and to emerging artists.

Applications can be submitted until the 5th of January 2018 by filling out the online form in English, Hungarian or Romanian.

For more information, questions and guidance for the application we are available at and (please note that we only accept applications through the online form).

Application form: EN, HU, RO

Powerful Messages Keep Rolling

In my opinion, having a mere poem, in this case it being an old "dusty" sonnet, and turning it into a visual action-full work of art can be a dreadful operation and not many would venture into doing it. Nevertheless, the writer of the script for this play not only had brains to do it so incredible and accessible to an impressive variety of people, but also ingeniously adapted it to the times we live in today, which made me realise how little the world around us changes no matter how many wars and peace treaties we go through.
